It’s Official! Substitute Teachers Exempt from Work Limits through 2030
Governor Kehoe has signed two bills into law, allowing retirees to work as substitute teachers without losing their Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) benefits. These laws extend a previous waiver through June 30, 2030.

Contribution Rates Remain Unchanged for 2025-2026
In the upcoming school year, the contribution rate for PSRS will continue to be 29%, and the contribution rate for PEERS will continue to be 13.72%.

How to Properly Terminate Employment
You must properly terminate your pre-retirement employment to be eligible for service retirement benefits. PSRS and PEERS each require a separation period of one month from your retirement date.

PSRS/PEERS Earns National Recognition for Financial Reporting Excellence
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri for 31st consecutive year.
