The Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) Board of Trustees convened on August 29 and 30, 2021 at the PSRS/PEERS headquarters in Jefferson City, MO.

PSRS/PEERS Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting
PSRS/PEERS was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the Systems’ fiscal year 2020 Annual Financial Report.

Working After Retirement Limit Waiver Extended through December 31, 2021
In August 2020, Governor Parson approved a request from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to temporarily waive portions of the state statutes that limit the number of hours worked and amount of salary earned by retirees working for covered employers in temporary, part-time or substitute positions.

PSRS/PEERS Private Equity Program Among Top Performers in U.S.
The ranking is based on private equity investment returns for a 10-year period ending June 30, 2020.

PSRS/PEERS Welcomes Dr. Eric Park to Board of Trustees
Governor Mike Parson has appointed Dr. Eric Park to the PSRS/PEERS Board of Trustees, effective July 2, 2021.

Stacie Verslues, of Jefferson City, MO, has been named director of employer services for the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) effective June 1, 2021.

Legislative Session Ends, No Bills with Direct Impact on PSRS/PEERS Passed
The 2021 Missouri Legislative Session ended on Friday, May 14 with no bills passing that directly impacted PSRS/PEERS. Legislation had been introduced that would have made changes to some working after retirement limits and Critical Shortage Employment, as well as a provision that would have allowed PSRS members with 32 or more years of service to retire with a higher benefit factor.
