$3.6 Billion in Retirement Benefits Boost Missouri Communities

In 2025, the Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) delivered $3.6 billion in benefits to more than 115,000 Missourians.

“Retirement benefits strengthen communities by fueling local spending,” said PSRS/PEERS Executive Director Dearld Snider. “The benefits we deliver flow into local businesses, housing markets, and services.”

  • Those benefits totaled $3.6 billion, or 88% of all PSRS/PEERS benefits.
  • No county received less than $1 million in 2025.
