PSRS/PEERS Protocols Uncover Fraudulent Activity
The Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) became aware on Monday, July 17, 2017, that personal information was obtained from an unknown outside source and utilized to create access to Web Member Services, the online member portal for the Systems. Approximately 720 members, a very small number of the PSRS/PEERS membership, were impacted. PSRS/PEERS was not the source for the stolen information.
There is no financial implication due to the fraudulent activity and individual members have been contacted.
New registration for Web Member Services is unavailable at this time. Members with a Web Member Services username and password already established can continue to utilize the online portal.
The security of our member’s information is our highest priority and the processes in place and quick response by our staff kept the impact of the situation to a minimum.
We will provide any relevant information to our members as it becomes available.
