The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded PSRS/PEERS the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Systems’ fiscal year 2022  Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

This is the 29th consecutive year PSRS/PEERS has received the prestigious award.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the Retirement Systems and their management.

The PSRS/PEERS 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and groups to read the report.

"Receiving the GFOA Award is important achievement for us,” said PSRS/PEERS Executive Director Dearld Snider. “It signifies that we have continued to meet our goal of making available financial and statistical information about the Systems that is transparent, clear and complete. Creating our annual financial report is a large and complex task, and I am proud of the consistently excellent product we are able to provide.”

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945. The goal of the program is not to assess the financial health of participating governments, but rather to ensure that users of their financial statements have the information they need to do so themselves.
