2019 GFOA Certificate of Achievement

PSRS/PEERS was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the Systems’ fiscal year 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

This was the 26th consecutive year PSRS/PEERS has received the prestigious award.

The receipt of this award means that PSRS/PEERS’ was judged to have provided a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report that goes beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to provide clear and complete financial information about the Systems in a way that is easy to understand.

"Our annual report is a very important document for PSRS/PEERS and our membership," said PSRS/PEERS Executive Director Steve Yoakum. "We believe it is extremely important to be transparent about what we do. We work hard to ensure our Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is easily readable and provides a complete and accurate picture of the Systems."

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945. The goal of the program is not to assess the financial health of participating governments, but rather to ensure that users of their financial statements have the information they need to do so themselves.
