Fall Conference Brings Missouri Schools, Community Colleges Together for Employer Reporting Training

The Public School and Education Employee Retirement Systems of Missouri (PSRS/PEERS) Employer Services Fall Conference, held Sept. 22 at the Wyndham Executive Center in Columbia, Missouri, brought together payroll professionals from across the state for a full day of learning and collaboration. The event featured practical, hands-on breakout sessions presented by PSRS/PEERS Employer Services staff, software partners, and experienced payroll contacts.

“Attendance and engagement throughout the day reflected the strong commitment across Missouri’s school districts and community colleges to accurate reporting, continuous process improvement, and meaningful partnership with PSRS/PEERS,” said Stacie Verslues, PSRS/PEERS Director of Employer Services. “The Fall Conference continues to serve as an important resource, providing opportunities to strengthen processes and deepen understanding of PSRS/PEERS requirements.”

This year’s theme was “Covering What Matters: Every Success, Every Season,” and the breakout sessions covered a wide range of topics designed to help payroll professionals better understand their PSRS/PEERS reporting work. Presenters shared easy-to-follow tips on using payroll tools, explained what to know when retirees return to work, walked through how new employees are added and paid, offered guidance on fixing common reporting mistakes, highlighted helpful PSRS/PEERS educational resources, and provided real‑world advice from experienced payroll staff.
