John Ruth joined the PSRS/PEERS Board of Trustees as a governor-appointed member effective July 17, 2026. Ruth serves as president and CEO of Build Asset Management, based in Jefferson City. Before cofounding Build, he spent more than a decade working in the investments and group benefits industry. During his tenure with Wallstreet Group Advisors, he led significant growth in the firm’s 401(k) advisory business, earning a partnership in 2016.

Ruth is deeply engaged in the Jefferson City community. He currently serves as vice president and treasurer of the Baker Gordon Syndrome Foundation and as president of the Genetic Autism Alliance. He previously served on the Jefferson City Area YMCA Board of Directors and as an elected member of the Jefferson City Public Schools Board of Education.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, Ruth earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and also played football for the Tigers.

John is married to Kasey Ruth. They have three daughters, who attend Jefferson City Public Schools.
