Yvonne Heath, Trustee
Yvonne Heath was elected to serve a third term as an active member of PSRS, effective July 1, 2016. Ms. Heath has 16 years of experience as a special educator (K-5 Resource) for the Republic R-III School District. Prior to that, she worked as a special education paraprofessional in the Ash Grove R-IV School District for 7 years.
Ms. Heath graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and holds a Master's Degree in Reading. She also holds special education certification in Learning Disabilities and Cross Categorical. Yvonne has been involved outside the classroom, throughout her education career. She has held several offices in the Republic CTA, including president, vice president, and treasurer. At the current time, she is the membership chairperson for her local CTA. She has served MSTA at the regional level, through the MSTA Southwest Region Teacher Education and Professional Standards Committee and the Public Relations Committee. At the state level, she is currently serving on the Communication Awards Committee. Mrs. Heath has also been active on the national level, through the National Council of Teacher Retirement, by her appointment to the Trustee Education Committee for the past three years. This committee helps to formulate the curriculum (through NCTR) for the annual Trustee Workshop.
Ms. Heath and her husband, Mike, live in Bois D'Arc. They have two daughters, Sarah and Katie, along with two granddaughters.
