Disability Retirement Survivor Benefits

If you die while receiving PSRS disability benefits, the benefit payment for the month of your death is payable. Your beneficiary(ies), if eligible, may be entitled to PSRS monthly benefits or a lump sum payment of any remaining balance of your contributions and interest. A one-time lump sum $5,000 Death Benefit is also provided by PSRS, and will be paid to the beneficiary you specifically designated for that benefit.
